All-Purpose Bread Dough

Ingredients:

  • 5 tsp. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 c. warm milk
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • >4 1/2 c. flour

In large mixer bowl, combine warm water and milk. Add yeast and mix with beaters until dissolved. Let sit for half an hour.

Add sugar, salt, oil, and two cups of flour to bowl. Mix well. Switch to dough hook or hands and mix in remaining flour, scraping stray dough from the bowl sides. At the end, the dough should be soft, but not sticky; use more or less flour as needed.

Cover dough and let sit in a warm place for 45 minutes. If using for bread, flatten dough and allow to rise a second time.

Dough is now ready to use.
